Update on Borno Bomb Blast: 17 persons confirmed dead

Recent update on Borno Car bomb  blast has confirmed 17 persons dead in suicide attack unleashed at the popular GMS Market near Post office in Maiduguri on Tuesday.

According to  News Agency of Nigeria, the incident occurred at about 2pm shortly after the Zuhur prayers.

Borno State Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Lawan Tanko confirmed the blast, saying 17 dead bodies have been identified and five persons were injured.

Tanko added that the police had also fortified security in all public places to prevent any incident in the state capital.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. You can recall that President Jonathan declared state of emergency in 3 north eastern state in Nigeria.
