7 Powerful rules of self-motivation

Self-motivation is the ability to do what needs to be done, without influence from other people or situations.  It's the only way for you to get out of your current situations which you may not like.

People with self-motivation always find a reason and strength to complete a task, even when challenging, without giving up or needing another to encourage them.
You need the inner drive to keep your momentum in achieving your goals in life. Without it nothing significant can be achieved. The best way to move forward is to encourage yourself and not wait for external self-motivator. What matters most is your own action. You need to create and develop your own self-motivation in order to pursue your dreams in life.

Mike Murdock said, "Intolerance of your present creates your future." Everyone has the capacity to encourage and motivate himself to achieve something worthwhile.
Successful people know that the best motivation is self-motivation. Without self-motivation, your life ambitions are at greater risk.

Here are 10 power rules to self-motivation that can help you in your career, business and family:

1. Dream Big

The inventions  and technological advancements that we see and enjoy today were once a a dream. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams James Allen said, "The dreamers are the saviours of the world". In self-motivation, dreams are important. What you see is what you get. Nothing great will ever be achieved without great men, and men become great if they dream big.

 2. Do not worry if you make mistake
Albert Einstein said, "A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new" Making mistakes is one way we can learn and improve in our life. There is no one that has never made a mistake. The most important thing here is you realise  that you have made mistakes and do not repeat the same mistakes again. You learn more from mistakes you have made than any other way. Use your mistakes to your advantage and fail forward.

3. Stay Positive
Staying positive at all times is a boost to self-motivation. See the good in bad. When encountering obstacles and challenges, always look for ways to encourage your self. There are opportunities in disaster but it only takes someone that is positive to see it. You can not achieve and retain  wealth without constantly staying positive.

4. Get out of your comfort zone.
You need to learn to get into unfamiliar terrain to explore better opportunities. Do not just stick around with the same people, same known places, skills or work. Explore new things that will enhance your ability to achieve your goals and keep you stay motivated.

5. Keep Learning.

The day we stop to learn is the day we start to die. We should cultivate the habit of learning everyday and every time. There is no limit to knowledge. There is a popular saying that "Knowledge is power.  You have to start spending time reading motivational books and listening to inspirational materials. Find some one that is achieving result in your chosen career or business and learn from them.

After learning, you must implement and put to practise whatever things you have learnt. What we learnt has a way of exciting us and spurring one to do more in achieving his goals. And the more you learn, the more confident you become in life.

6. Resolve problems instead of running away.

Your journey to success will most time not be smooth. At this time of challenges, what you do is to face them and not run from it. There was a small business that I started alongside my regular work. After a while, i had some issues with my workers and was forced to shutdown the business. So my advice is never to quit when facing difficulties in your quest for success.

7. Care less about what people say.

You may hear a lot of bad things people say about you. Sometimes those bad comments may come from somebody close to you. As long as you fully know what you are ding to achieve your goals, you can let those comments fall into  deaf ears. Thinking too much about what people say will only make you weaker and lose focus on your efforts.
