| Chief Edwin Clark |
Clark spoke Tuesday, while receiving members of PDP from Kwara South senatorial district led by the Senator representing the zone and Chairman, Senate Committee on Cooperation and Integration in Africa and New Partnership for Africa’s Development, (NEPAD) Senator Simeon Ajibola, at his Asokoro residence, in Abuja.
He also called on the PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, governors elected on the platform of PDP, who operated under the aegis of the PDP Governors’ Forum, stakeholders and other leaders to work together in unison. He stated that this had become necessary since 2014 was the last year before the 2015 presidential election.
According to him, there was no crisis in the PDP as explained by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), stressing that there could be disagreement, but that should not translate to a crisis that could lead to the lawmakers leaving the PDP.
The former, Federal Commissioner for Information, also said that APC who would soon explode, adding that the problems they would soon encounter would be greater than what they imagined.
In their remarks, Ajibola and Senator Suleiman Ajadi, who both noted that they decided to take their faith into their hands in Kwara South, vowed to remain in PDP and support President Goodluck Jonathan, pleaded with the federal government to support them in achieving their set goals.
Edwin Clark has always supported all the actions and inactions of President Goodluck Jonathan. He should see himself first as a Nigerian before being an Ijaw man. As an Elder statesman, he should be concerned about the progress of the nation and not partisan politics.
