The hoodlums believed to be loyal to another faction of the party unleashed terror in Wasini, Ewekoro Local Government Area of the state shooting party members of the party, including a police officer.
The political thugs shot sporadically into the air at Wasimi, venue of a senatorial meeting convened by Obadara to sensitise the people of the area about the forthcoming membership registration of the APC and took over the place before the Senator and his supporters arrived.
Members and supporters who sustained injuries were later taken to Mercy Group Clinics, Panseke, Abeokuta for immediate medical attention.
In a press release statement, Sen Obadara accused the state governor, Sen. IbikunleAmosun of sponsoring the hoodlums and masterminding the disruption of the political meeting in Wasimi.
Meanwhile, Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State has denied his alleged involvement in the disruption of a meeting organised by Obadara.
In a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Olusola Balogun, Gov. Amosun condemned all acts of violence against any citizen of Ogun State and regretted the attempt to link him or any member of his government with such dastardly act
Basirat Shonekan-Umaru is not a career politician but a leader of people, she is sacrificing the comfort a developed society to come home and serve. She bears no before nor after baggage that derided substantiated leadership in Nigerian and in general all black environment cum organization. I am not by any means from Ogun State nor am I linked to her by profession but I must tell you that I have seen what she can do. Not just doing favors to people whom she hardly knows, what gets me about her is how she builds people up, organizations and societies. How she is more willing to show a society how to fish by themselves instead of the cultured and “Nigerianized” give “a fish” to the society or in this case cups of rice, beans and rams for a day. Basirat Shonekan-Umaru thinks outside the box, she will show Ogun State indigenes how to own rice, beans and ram farms that they do not need to come to her or any one for Ramadan rams, rice, beans or palm oil. She finds a way to make you, I and every other persons needing assistance – I said “needing assistance” not necessary from her to find sustained assistance for subsequent “personal support.” I will support her if I were you.
