Church, Legislator's House destroyed by Boko Haram Militant in Borno

According to Daily Post, Gunmen suspected to be members of the dreaded Islamic militants, Boko Haram have burnt down a church and a house of a National Assembly member, Hon. Peter Biye.

 The attack on Friday in Gwoza town of Gwoza Local Government council of Borno State.

Hon. Biye, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) representing Damboa, Chibok and Gwoza federal constituency disclosed that a church, located close to his house was not spared by the assailants. 

He said, "The militants also took away some domestic animals, burnt a consignment of sorghum which was meant for distribution to our people to cushion their hardships, 30,000 pieces of exercise books, 30,000 packets of biro and 30,000 packets of chalk which I bought for distribution to schools in my constituency".

 Efforts by the Honourable to reach the police were not successful as the Officer in charge did not pick his calls.

Attacks have continued in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States despite the State of emergency declaration and deployment of military personnel in the area
