Ondo bye-election to be delayedd – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission in Ondo State  will delay the bye-election in Ilaje-Ese-Odo Federal Constituency .

The reason being that the National Assembly have failed to officially notifify the commission of the death of one of its members,, Raphael Nomiye.

Hon. Raphael Oloye Nomiye, who was 50 years old died on November 23 while having an illicit affairs with a female banker, in Abuja.

Until his death he was representing  Ondo, Ilaje, Ese Odo in Ondo State under the platform of the Labour Party.

The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Akin Orebiyi had told reporters at a news conference in Akure, the state capital, that the Commission was still waiting for the lower chamber of the National Assembly to officially write INEC on the development.




Orebiyi however said that the Commission was ready to conduct a bye-election into Ilaje/ Ese-Odo federal constituency once due process is duly followed.
