Defection: PDP regains Simple Majority in the Lower Legislative House

The numbers of  Peoples Democratic Party , (PDP) lawmakers have increased by five  to regain the simple majority in the lower legislative house.

 Five All Progressive Congress, (APC) lawmakers on Tuesaday in Abuja dump the party  to join the PDP in the lower legislative house.

With the defection, PDP now has 178 members in the house compared to APC with 168 members.

 The defected APC  lawmakers are  Lawal Shehu Bichi (Kano), Abdulsalam Adamu, (Kano), Sani Umar Dangaladima (Zamfara)., Umar Mohammed Bature (Sokoto) and  Ibrahim Shehu Gusau (Zanfara).

It would be recalled that  just three months ago, 37 lawmakers of PDP defected to APC in what seems  to  break the dominance of PDP in the lower legislative house.
