17 PDP Senators to join APC - Sen Jubrilla

There is no gainsaying that the People Democratic Party, PDP under Bamanga Tukur as its chairman is going through one of its darkest days and period in his fifteen years of existence.

Based on reports from Thisday news, Members of the party are defecting to All Progressive Party (APC), main opposition party in droves due to internal crisis rocking the party.

The latest is that 17 senators, one of them from Adamawa State,  are set to dump the ruling party in favour of the APC.

These were disclosed by Senator  Bindo Jubrilla, representing Adamawa,Adamawa North  in an interview with the Hausa Service of the BBC.

Jubrilla who was emphatic and sure that 17 of his colleagues, whom he did not name or indicate the states they will come from, pointed out that they are all  set to decamp because of the persistent injustices meted out by the PDP leadership to its members.

Thisday correspondent gathered from a source that five of Jubrilla's colleagues in the House of Representatives may also be defecting  to the APC. If this happens, the APC's ambition to attain the simple majority of 181 in the lower chamber would have got a tremendous boost, leaving it with only two more members to woo.
