We’ll end Boko Haram insurgency in 3 months – Defence Chief

The newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal Alex Badeh, has on Monday assured Nigerians that the military under his leadership will end the Boko Haram insurgency in the country before April this year.

 

The defence chief  said the military have to end the insurgency in the next three months to prevent a constitutional problem in the polity. He also added that the war against the dreaded militant group has already been won

 

Badeh gave the assurance while taking over as the new Chief of Defence Staff from his predecessor, Admiral Ola Ibrahim at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja

 

The CDS said that he would work with all the new service chiefs to end the insurgency.

 

While assuring other service chief of his total support, Badeh described his appointment as an opportunity to serve the country.

 

Badeh also said the military will not go back to the senate to beg or lobby for extension of military activities.

 

The new chief also commended the efforts and success of  his predecessor.
