Nelson Mandela leaves $4 dollars estate to Staff, Schools, ANC and Family

Former South African President, and anti-apartheid leader,  Nelson Mandela   has willed his $4.1 million (aboutN688 million) estate to former staff, schools ,  the ruling African National Congress  and family members.

The 40-page will was read on Monday by the executor, Dikgang Moseneke in the presence of family members and friends.

 Mandela gave 50,000 rands (N750,000) to each of his former close. The will also made a provision of 100,000 rands (N1.5M) to each of the  four schools Mandela attended.

His modest estate includes an choice house in Johannesburg, a modest dwelling in his rural Eastern Cape home province and royalties from book sales, including his autobiography Long Walk to Freedom.

According to Moseneke, the estate would be split between three trusts set up by Mandela, including a family trust designed to provide for his more than 30 children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mandela died  on December 5, 2013 at the ripe age of 95. More then 90 heads of state attended his burial service.
