JTF Foils Suicide Attack In Yobe

An attack by suicide bombers operating in a pick up vehicle laden with IEDs was yesterday (Sunday) morning foiled in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital, a statement by the Director Defence Information, Major-General Chris Olukolade said.
He noted that “the target of the attack was the “A” Division Police Command situated by the main round about in the heart of the town. The attempt was however foiled as the culprit was arrested by the police personnel on duty”.
“A total of 6 already constructed turbine containers loaded with explosive as well as 20 litters of petrol and 11 bags of beans chaff have been recovered from the scene”.
Olukolade further noted that “no casualty was recorded, while all the recovered items are in the custody of the Joint Task Force in the state. The Police anti bomb squad has safely defused the explosive”
