Boko Haram will soon be gone- President Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan has said on Sunday that  Boko Haram insurgency will be a thing of the past. He said this while attending the first sunday service in Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), Abuja.

The President  described the Boko Haram insurgency in some Northern states as a temporary challenge and that Nigeria will overcome it.

Jonathan, who  stated that his  government  would  work assiduously to ensure that nobody or organization held  Nigeria to ransom, assured again that Boko Haram would soon be consigned to the dustbin of history.

Mr. Jonathan said the current tense political situation in the country was normal, even in developed countries; saying it would not deter his administration from proceeding with its programmes.

We will collectively liberate this country from the hands of any evil person that is trying to set us backward. We will do our best and build a country that our children and our grandchildren will be proud of.” he said.

He also promised to work hard to improve the standard of living of Nigerians during his tenure and ensure  Nigerians get the dividends of democracy.

The President said he would not bore the congregation with speech rhetoric but he's confident that only the will of God would be fulfilled in the country.

Meanwhile, The President of COCIN, Dachollom Datiri, commended the President for declaring State of Emergency in Yobe, Borno and Adamawa states and for all its effort in curbing the Boko Haram insurgency.

He also prayed for courage for the President to fight corruption which he said had become endemic  in the country.

Notable dignitaries at the service were the President’s mother, Eunice Jonathan; the President’s Chief of Staff, Mike Ogiadhome; Minister of Water Resources, Mrs. Sarah. Ochekpe,; and Minister of FCT (State), Olajumoke Akinjide.
