You have my vote for 2015 Presidency, Fashola tells Oshiomhole

Lagos State Governor, Babatude Fashola has on Saturday in Benin urged Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to contest for 2015 presidential election.

Fashola said, " I will support you should in case you decide to contest for 2015 presidential election".

Speaking at youth summit organised by the Edo State government, Fashola said: “if Governor Adams Oshiomhole decides to run as President of this country, he will have my vote. He is the kind of leader that Nigeria needs. I say that because, I have spent five memorable years of my life in Benin City as an undergraduate and as a Youth Corper and they are very fond memories that I hold dear in my heart today.

He  called on the youth no to be discouraged by the present leaders of the country but to contribute their quota to the development of the country.

Fashola’s view is in tandem with a position being canvassed by some within the All Progressives Congress that to kill the North/South rivalry and douse tension, the opposition party should field a candidate from the South-south to contest against President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 election.
With that pairing, those canvassing the position argued, the focus will shift from North/South or Islam/Christianity to performance.

In his remarks at the summit, Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State appealed to the youths not to give up on the nation but to work assiduously to make Nigeria a better nation.

He said, “There is no nation that doesn’t have problems. It is only Nigerians that can build Nigeria. We can’t keep crying over what we have lost yesterday. But we can resolve to do things differently tomorrow.

“I appeal to our youths not to judge the future of Nigeria by the failure of the past leaders and even the failings of the current leaders.”

Also present at the youth summit were Barrister Festus Keyamo, TUC former President, Comrade Peter Esele and   Dr. Joe Odumakin
