Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar 111, Wednesday called on the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Alhaji Ahmad Adamu Muazu, to do whatever it takes to bring stability in the politics of the country, by ensuring that the road to 2015 elections is not stained by the blood of innocent citizens.
He also cautioned politicians in the country and those in the diaspora, who preach politics of hatred, to desist forthwith in the interest of peace.
The monarch made the plea Wednesday, when the PDP national chairman paid him homage in his palace in Sokoto.
He noted with dismay the politics of acrimony and mudslinging bedeviling the polity, saying the PDP national chairman had the onerous task of stabilising politics not only in the PDP but in Nigeria as a whole.
