3000 APC Members Defect to PDP in Yobe

Peoples Democratic Party is gaining more grounds in Yobe State. Yobe State Chairman of the People Democratic Party, Alhaji Lawan Gana has on Monday declared the defection 3000 All Progressive Congress Members to PDP. 

The Chairman in Karasuwa, Yobe State said the defection occurred in a period of one month. 
Gana said the defection was a result of  PDP’s reconciliatory efforts across the state, saying  that the committees reconciled with aggrieved party members who left the party, adding that the committees also wooed new members from the ruling APC party to the PDP.
He explained that ``the party constituted two reconciliatory committees to reconcile aggrieved members resident outside the state and those within Yobe and to scout for new members.

The chairman said the Dr Adamu Fika-led committee was expected to reconcile and scout for new members outside the state, reports NAN.

Gana said,``We are happy that soon after the committees commenced work, supporters of other parties are now defecting to the PDP,’’.
Gana said the 56 federal projects attracted by Dr Yerima Ngama, the Minister of state for Finance had increased the people’s support to the Federal Government.

``The establishment of a Federal University in Gashua and Federal School of Midwifery, among others, had provided economic growth and employment opportunities to the people,’’ he said.
