All Progressives Congress party in the House of Representative has finally lost its simple majority in the house.
Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele representing Ado Ekiti/Irepodun-Ifelodun has finally announced to the house of his defection from APC to Labour Party.
The former commissioner of Lagos State said his decision to defect dates back to the start of merger talks among the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, the Congress for Progressive Change and the All Nigeria Peoples Party, saying he had his initial reservation cerning the merger.
As he made his declarations, LP members, Peoples Democratic Party lawmakers, among others were seen shaking hands with him and congratulating Bamidele on his decision to join LP.
In his reaction, APC Minority Leader in the House, Femi Gbajabiamila said Hon. Bamidele was not party of APC calculations in the House.
Bamidele's grieviances in ACN started when he declared his intentions to contest the gubernatorial election in his home state. However, the ACN leader, Sen Bola Tinubu told him to forget his ambitions, saying there is no vacancy in the government.house.
