Ex Governor of Kano State, Shekarau Defects From APC to PDP

Ex Kano State Governor, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau

Former Governor of Kano State, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau has on Wednesday, dumped All Progressive Party for the People Democratic Party. 

The two-time Governor made the declaration in Kano while addressing his supporters, saying APC has no structure in Kano and no membership registration after six months of the merger.

Shekarau is defecting to PDP due to APC policies that stated that the state party leader should be the incumbent governor.

The Presidential  Candidate of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) during the 2011 election said, "The party is against the social spirit of democracy,  it is based on this, I and all my supporter s moved a motion to denounce our membership.

Mallam Shekarau was Governor of Kano State between 2003 and 2011. He was succeeded and preceded  by the present governor of the state, Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso.
