SSS summons El-Rufai, over inciting statements

Ex Minister of the FCT, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai,
The  State Security Service, (SSS) on Thursday has invited a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai,  to appear at its headquarters in Abuja on Friday over the speech he made at the Transformed to Transform (The T2T Nigeria) Conference and Career Fair, a leadership and empowerment initiative for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in Abuja.

He was invited by the security agency to clarify the statement in which he allegedly said that 2015 Elections will be marred with violence.

El-Rufai, a chieftain of All Progressives Congress, was also quoted as having said  that “the only alternative left to get power is to take it by force.”

Prior to his invitation, the SSS, in a  statement   by its  Deputy Director, Public Relations, Marilyn Ogar, on Thursday evening, called on  all Nigerians to guard their speech and avoid making inciting statements

The statement reads, “The attention of the Department of State Services has been drawn to incessant provocative statements by some Nigerians threatening violence ahead of the 2015 general elections. Such comments are offensive, misguided, and directed at stirring hate amongst Nigerians.
